Head of Engineering - China

On behalf of our client, a prestigious Automotive company, Manning Global Group is currently looking for an Head of Engineering to be permanently based in Changzhou, China.
Responsibilities:
•        Member of Top Management in charge of governance, management, coordination and development (growth) of Engineering Department currently including teams for System Engineering , I&C Design, Steam Turbine core machine, Production Engineering, Software and Hardware development teams
•        Developing the Engineering Department in terms of competence and capacity playing a critical role in the competence development of the local entity
•        Defining, executing and implementing organizational structure and processes in Engineering Department
•        Close cooperation and technical support for procurement, operations, quality and service departments in organization in order to enhance technological know-how exchange and best practice approaches
•        Overseeing multiple design projects simultaneously and ensuring on time, in budget and quality of delivery
•        In cooperation with procurement and quality key role for product and component localization starting from document translation, transfer to Chinese norms up to supplier friendly redesign
•        Provide guidance to team members and develop, evaluate and mentor staff.

Requirements:
•        Master Degree in mechanical engineering, phd preferred
•        Minimum of 15 years Engineering experience in turbo machinery industry including disciplinary and functional leadership – focus on machinery and complex systems
•        Knowledge of turbo machinery, such as compressor, steam turbine.
•        Issue solving expertise and conceptual and knowledge in localization strategies within China
•        Record of proficient relevant professional and academic achievements.
•        Excellent analytical skills, effective writing and presentation skills, strong relationship building skills
•        Creative problem-solving abilities / Out-of-the-box thinking, ability to create an efficient and integrating team environment
•        Excellent command of English, preferably also Chinese and/or German
