Description of position

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supportsthe bilateral cooperation between the German Ministry of Economic Affairs andEnergy (BMWi) and the Chinese Ministryof Industry and Information Technology (MIIT)in the areas of intelligent manufacturing and interconnected productionprocesses (Industrie 4.0). GIZ’s Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Project serves as a contact office in China with regard toIndustrie 4.0 related topics and provides a platform for dialogue between companiesand industry associations as well as further interested parties. In addition,we provide policy monitoring and policy advice to government institutions.

The project is managed by a very motivated,young, international, small, anddynamic team with flat hierarchies and opportunities for personaldevelopment.

The Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Project based in Beijing offers a positionas Intern starting at the earliestdate possible. The successful applicant will be supporting the team withregards to policy research, project management and event planning as well as result-orientedimplementation of cooperation activities.

Task Profile:

• Research of current Chinese policies in intelligent manufacturing / Industrie 4.0;
  
• Close and precise monitoring of policy developments with regard to Industrie 4.0, focussed especially on China and Germany;
  
• Technical and organisational support for the political dialogue and related cooperation activities of government and private sector partners, such as round tables, expert workshops and conferences;
  
• Assisting in gathering and analysing German industry’s view and position on Industrie 4.0 and the cooperation with Chinese counterparts;
• Supportingin analysing existing Sino-German cooperation projects on intelligentmanufacturing and relevant policy development;
• Translating (CN/GER/EN) reports, meeting minutes, presentations, news andother documents;
• Administrativesupport (e.g. database maintenance and travel arrangement and liaison withoutside vendors)
  
• You will be working inan international team supporting all activities with our partners.
  
  

Requirements:

• Holding a bachelor degree or studying in an advanced semester (5th semester) in an area related to the project’s topics, e.g. economics, business administration, international relations, public policy, engineering or science & technology etc. and a focus on German language studies;
  
• Work experience with regard to project management are considered a strong asset;
  
• Excellent organisational skills; efficient, accurate and high quality delivery of all work-related output;
  
• Excellent communication skills; culture-sensitive social skills and team player; good sense of humour
  
• Fluency in Chinese and English or German (written and spoken) is required;
  
• Very good working knowledge of IT and communication technologies and relevant computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
  
  

The internship is remuneratedwith a monthly allowance.
