　　1970年，自幼狂爱打鼓的菲尔柯林斯打响人生乐章的第一章，他凭着优异的鼓技入主英国前卫摇滚乐团Genesis(创世纪乐团)，并在原创始团长Peter Gabriel离团后，为乐团找到商业与艺术创作的平衡点，进入80年代，菲尔的人生乐章进入更加灿烂的第二章，他一边带领Genesis走向乐团巅峰，连创4张英国金榜冠军专辑，一边以“No Jacket Required”、“But Seriously”这2张个人专辑强势完封英美排行榜冠军宝座，并包办了葛莱美奖年度专辑、年度唱片等大奖，菲尔瞬间晋升为享誉国际的摇滚巨星。90年代，菲尔尝试爵士乐风与电影原声带的创作，2000年连夺奥斯卡、金球奖与葛莱美奖的“泰山”主题曲"You'll Be In My Heart"无疑就是这段多样化的人生乐章第三章的丰硕果实。跨越到21世纪的开端，菲尔的人生乐章泛起了动荡的涟漪，他因长期疲累导致左耳半聋，2002年，菲尔克服耳朵半聋症状，发行一张回归亲情的专辑“Testify”，向乐迷见证他同时拥抱人生与音乐的感激之情。2004年夏季，菲尔带着这份感激之情上路开唱，展开定名为'First Final Farewell Tour'的全球巡回演唱。
