美軍中士約翰（傑克葛倫霍 飾）前往阿富汗執行最後壹次戰鬥任務，由當地的口譯員阿邁德（達爾薩利姆 飾）陪同，過程中，兩人的部隊遭到敵軍伏擊，阿邁德拚死將負傷的約翰帶到安全地帶。約翰回到美國本土後，發現美國政府沒有依約將阿邁德和他的家人帶到美國，於是決定重返戰區救出他的恩人……。
