Technical Project Leader-German


The OE Application Team:
The ‘OE-Application Engineering Team’ has as main task to support OEM Customer Projects on all Technical aspects: 2D/3D Designs, CAE-calculations, DFMEA, prototypes building and testing, make and release BOM (Bill-Of-Material). The OE-Application team covers the complete product gamma (conventional dampers, monotubes, Semi-Active damper systems (CES), modular assemblies, Mc-Pherson struts), and application introduction of new valving systems.

Job Description of Technical Project Leader:

The Technical Project Leader (TPL) takes the lead and is responsible for the coordination of this Development Process with as main target to develop the most optimal product that complies with the OEM Customer Requirements and with our internal standards.

The TPL can count on the support of the Competence centers and internal Design Rules and databases. The TPL is the main point of contact for all technical items, both to the Project Team as to the OEM-Customer. Regular customer contacts are therefore a vital part of the job as TPL in order to guarantee an efficient way of working.
Regarding prototype building, the TPL is the driver to make component drawings, preliminary BOM’s (X-BOM’s) and drawings of necessary tools and jigs to make the prototypes in an efficient way and of good quality.

Further tasks of the TPL include the making of the Validation Plan and Engineering Spec’s, complete the Application Design FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) and the launch and follow-up of CAE – calculations.

The TPL attends also technical meetings at the customer.

The expectation is that the TPL has - or gains – sufficient product knowledge and technical understanding in order to run this development in a fluent and efficient way.
The TPL has therefore continuous contact with the Project Team, the Competence centers, the OEM-Customer, Manufacturing, Purchasing and other internal departments.


Qualifications:
- Industrial Engineer (Preferable Mechanical Engineering).
- Adequate technical & mechanical understanding.
- Stress-resistant and a strong analytical and creative approach.
- Good communication skills and able to operate independent within a Team structure.
- Prepared to make business trips if necessary for the job.
- Fluent German speaking and good English.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilties:

The technical project leader:

1)
Acts as single technical point of contact for program manager within project team
2)
Coordinates between core engineering and the different competence centers
3)
Input = RFQ /statement of requirements
(from Program Manager)

4)
Review test reports and take appropriate actions.
5)
Output = full BOM + drawings + calculation reports
6)
Drive design of Strut/shock/module/CES applications
7)
Submits the application DFMEA
8)
Defines RFD, act as interface for core component development (only development at component level)
9)
Defines RFD, acts as interface for product development (development required at shockabsorber level)
10)
Releases specifications of non core - application specific components
1)
Drives NP/ECA/ECR
2)
Executes non-specialized calculations, organize specialized ones
3)
Design of required tools (measurement, assembly, welding,…)
4)
Single point of contact for any application technical concern until SOP + 90 days
5)
Temporarily leads (initiates) 8D until SOP + 90 days until 8D ownership has been defined
6)
Attends customer technical meetings
7)
Can handle more than 1 project
8)
organize analysis of Sample return/Line return until SOP+90 days
9)
Product specific control plan
10)
Assist plant for PFMEA + CP + Process definition
11)
Sample deliveries:
1)
Follow-up on dimensional measurements / results.
2)
Follow-up on correctness of tools – processes
3)
Define work-flow for prototypes
4)
Follow-up on damping measurements
5)
Select dampers to be shipped to customer
6)
Check reports to be sent to customer
7)
Take decision / appropriate action in case of deviations
