I am a physician in China. I got a scholarship from China that afford me to study in Germany to读博. After I came here, the professor told me that he can only give me the M.D. but not PhD. . Who knows the difference of M.D. or PhD.? What can I do know? Thank you very much!
MD is only for the medial students. It took two to three years toget your degree. But PhD minimally took three years. Here in Germany, most of professor will offer the people who has medical background MD.
I have never seen medical doctors displaying Ph.D. title (unless they got it additionally in some non-medical field). Why don't you search for differences on the Internet ? wikipedia.com might have an answer...
