Field Responsibility:
Architecture Modularisation has been agreed as a design principle for Next Generation (5G) mobile networks. This design principle goes in pair with several alternative options for interfacing Network Functions (NFs) the overall architecture will be decomposed into. The Future Networks Technologies (FNT) Team is currently focusing on the definition and the analysis of alternative NFs interfacing options, including NF-to-NF interfaces, full mesh interfaces, Service Oriented Interfaces.

We are looking for:
Intern (m/f) in Development and Evaluation of NFs Interfacing Models for 5G

fora duration of at least 6 months, starting as soon as possible.

The internship aims at analyzing, implementing and evaluating alternative NFs interfacing options. The work will follow four major steps:

    Achieving a deep understanding of possible NFs interfacing options for 5G systems;
    Implementation on FNT development platform of different alternative NFs interfacing options;
    KPIs definitions and performance evaluation (via experiments and simulations) of the implemented NFs interfacing options.
    Technical Reporting.

Field Qualification Required:

Our Requirements:

    Pursuing MSc/ BSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications;
    Good knowledge of Mobile Network Architectures and technologies (LTE/SAE, preferred);
    Proficiency inJava Programming and experience in Python is a plus;
    Programming knowledge on different inter-process communication models and technologies (Message Queuing, Pub-Sub, Web Services, etc.)
    Shell and Linux programming experience;
    Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and virtualization technologies;
    Fluent in English (written and spoken);
    Be motivated to have a hands-on experience and to learn new technologies.
