but sucks&#33;<br>Can not load many modules automatically after its first boot&#33; <br><br>I can not use the new modules managing tools, module-init-tools. The old one modconf and modutils are for me much easier and  convenient.

i compiled the new kernel under my debian box, <br>it works fine - maybe neatly. e.g. the O(1) <br>scheduler, and it&#39;s now preemptible even without <br>any patch. <br>

Have you made any special congiurations for loading of the Modules at the boottime? if so,tell me how. Thx！<br><br>I compiled the new kernel with some warings. and well done with &quot;make modules;make modules_install&quot;  for the Modules.<br>But after its first booting, some modules could not automatically loaded.<br>I believe, that i have already added necessary modules by the &quot;make menuconfig&quot; to this kernel.

In the new 2.6.0 kernel, many base drivers and configuration are not set down. You must set all nessasery feathers by yourself. <br><br>such as: <br><br>IDE support, vt100 console,........<br><br>I have carefully checked all the entries by the &quot;menuconfig&quot;, and after compiled and firt booting, only some module-loading problem occur.
