Objectives: - As the future technology expert for production processes of Polyethylene or Ethylene Oxides and Glycols
- process in the Petrochemicals Division, work together with Global and China mega project team to design, engineer, construct, start-up and operate a petrochemical production cluster for BASF.
- Design phase of the project will be executed in Shanghai. The project and future plant management team will move into BASF New Verbund Site in Guangdong Zhanjiang.
Main Tasks: - Coordinate with the project team to achieve the requirements regarding cost, schedule, quality and safety.
- Take the responsibility as a commissioning manager to prepare the production cluster for a safe and successful start-up. Define commissioning, operations and maintenance concepts.
- Support the Petrochemicals Division management in preparation and execution of process safety reviews.

Responsibilities - Design products forautomotive, electro medical or automation industry.
- Design mechanical elements, including mechanical drawing, calculation andsimulation.
- Use DFMEA and other failure mitigating design tools.
- Analyze the function of mechanical elements, evaluation the risk ofmechanical design.
- Ensure on-time delivery of mechanical design, documents and partperformance.

- Provide technical support to manufacturing during pilot run and productionstart-up until transfer to series production.
- Technical support during project acquisition.
- Create and update the BOM, initiate ECR (Engineering Change Request).
- Contribute to design review & product robustness.
- Contribute to the product validations.
- Ensure consistency between GD&T (incl. Tolerance stacks) and processfeasibility.
- Follow other tasks assigned by the Manager.

Responsibilities - Support to calculate / estimate production and one-off cost during inquiry phase
- Support to prepare all necessary documentation during NPI phase
- Support to create DFM guidelines for R&D and other departments
- Support to define manufacturing, testing and packing processes, and coordinate the evaluation and selection of new equipment
- Conduct time and motion studies to assist management in establishing production standards and identify opportunities to boost operation efficiency, quality and profitability by utilizing process improvement methods such as PFMEA, value stream mapping, SPC, CPK, DOE, lean and Sig Sigma.
- Lower the cost of production by eliminating wastes in both manpower and materials.
- Plan, design and structure workflows and work systems, taking into account new methods and technologies.
- Prepare charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling and machine utilization.
- Verify equipment settings or machine controls, observe employees in the performance of their assigned responsibilities and record time spent on complete task or sub-tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate. Create / update the routing data in SAP.
Requirements - Bachelor degree, majored in industrial, mechanical, electronics and manufacturing engineering.
- Proficient English language, German is a plus.
- Willing to closely work with production functions.
- Familiar with MS office software.

Individual Tasks: - Supports the IPL &/or leads the compilation and follow-up of project plans, creation of concept matrices and feasibility studies in accordance with corresponding departments: GTS (Global Technology & Standards), Testing, CAX, PPV, Industrial Design, IAD, ISPS, Costing, Purchasing, Marketing, CE, Development Quality & in line with Innovation Global Domain Manager (GDM).
- Supports the IPL &/or leads the compilation and building of Innovation Validation Plans (based on conceptional study results, risk analysis (incl. FMEA’s), internal & external functional analysis etc) according to FIS innovation process in co-operation and accordance with the corresponding GTS/GDM.
- Project reviews: Supports/leads Monthly project reviews with key stakeholders (e.g. GTS (Global Technology & Standards), Testing, CAX, PPV, Industrial Design, IAD, ISPS, Costing, Purchasing, Marketing, CE, Development Quality & in line with Innovation Global Domain Manager (GDM) and Senior Regional Manager (SRM) depending on the project phase.
- Supports/leads the documenting of results in form of reports, presentations, drawings, samples for presentation, Bills of material etc.
- Supports IPL with the preparation and presentation of the project milestone at the relevant Innovation Committees (MIC) in accordance with the Innovation Process & the respective MIC templates (on the iNet).
- Supports IPL &/or prepares the documenting of research results in the form of research reports, presentations, drawings/ sketches, models, prototypes, concept part lists and results from simulation calculations etc.
- Ensure patent protection on innovative solutions in close cooperation with the Intellectual Assets Department (IAD).
- Supports IPL in the co-operation with Concept Engineering and GTS to communicate and assure good transfer of innovation projects into serial development.
- Supports IPL in the co-operation with external development partners aligned with IAD/GTS/GDM/SRM. Guidance of suppliers in pre-development projects.
- Co-operation with FIS Innovation departments in Meru (France), Auburn Hills (USA), Shanghai (China), Valencia (Spain) & Pune (India).
- Acts cost-consciously in all aspects of business (project, travel etc).
- Supervision of master thesis, internships & VIE’s where applicable.
