有一个婴孩为我们而生，由亨德尔创作。唱谱有4个声部，分别是女高音（Soprano），女低音（Alto），男高音（Tenor），男低音（Bass）。
亨德尔Georg Friedrich Händel(1685-1759)，出生在德国东部的城市哈雷（Halle），和Bach是同一年代的人。在哈雷大学读的时候一边读律师专业，一边搞音乐。大概30岁的时候去了英国，后来就在英国定居。
这首曲子是神剧“弥赛亚”中的一首，歌词很简单，来源于旧约圣经“以赛亚”书的第9章第6节：
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
虽然歌词简单，但凭着亨德尔对音乐的理解，对乐器的运用还有一个敬畏神的心，谱写了这么一首百听不腻的古典名曲。
